It is no exaggeration to say that I have wanted to buy a label maker for decades. Plural. I finally convinced myself that it would all right to buy one if I used it to label school supplies. Now I can’t stop labeling everything in sight. It is totally dreamy.
I use asafetida in Indian dishes. A little bit goes a looooong way, so I feel as though I have had the same jar of it for ages. It’s not really a spice that one uses front and center; it’s more of an element of an overall flavor, if that makes any sense at all.
Yay for label makers! Love them! On an unrelated note, did you chanfpge some settings on the blog? I generally read it on my blog reader, Reeder, and it used tomshow me the whole post with pictures, but now it’s just the first sentence or so…
That’s weird about the blog reader. I didn’t change any settings, but I know that WordPress often makes little changes here and there, which perhaps might effect the way their hosted sites appear in readers. Sad to say, I don’t really know how to check on that. I hope you’ll still stop by and read the new posts, though!
I can so relate to your joy expressed in this post!!! i have quite a collection of tim holtz distress inks and when stacked, you can’t tell what color they are so i used my label maker and marked the side of each pad so now i can find the color i want easily.
Awhile back I labeled and organized my spice cabinet. After posting about that on Facebook, my sister asked “but are they alphabetized?” Of course! what kind of question is that??
Oooohhh, I love getting organized. How did I not know you own a label maker?!

Right after my mother gave my husband and me a label maker, he went label crazy, even labeling the dishwasher. 😉
there is something wonderful in the beauty of simplicity……
a simple label on a pretty jar…feel obscene all you like!!!
That is hilarious! (And, believe me, I’ve been tempted to go similarly freestyle with the label maker.)
What do you use your asafoetida in? I have some but have no idea what dishes I should use it with.

Omg! I’m jealous of the time you had to do that, your spice jars, and your label maker. So. very. jealous.

My husband has been asking me to label our spice jars. We just try to get the right spice by look and smell!
